Sign-up for Class
“A goal without a plan is just a wish.” — Antoine de Saint-Exupéry
Today’s Thrive Tips, Tricks, and Tools focuses on the benefits of signing-up for class. Of course there is the obvious benefit of saving a spot for you in the classroom, but there are a couple of other reasons why this small action is important to your practice.
Mental preparedness - Once you confirm your space in a class, you have mentally made a commitment to attend. This begins the visualization process of seeing your action through; without this important step, you could go back and forth in your mind on whether you’ll attend or not. This leaves you the opportunity to opt out of attending. Not making the commitment to attend in a lot of ways commits you to finding a reason to not attend. By deciding in advance to commit to class, you are making a choice for yourself that begins the process of fitting the rest of your tasks on that day around your practice.
Physical preparedness - By taking the initial action to commit to class, you can now begin taking the next steps needed to prepare. Meeting small goals helps you achieve larger goals.

You can sign up for most classes at Thrive a week in advance. Take time to plan out all of the classes you want to attend during the week and commit to them in your mind and your schedule by registering. Another great way to stay on target for class is to invite a friend to attend with you. This will add another level of accountability to your practice. This is how you turn a wish into a goal. See you in class!
